1. OPENING HOURS

2. SALES

All sales made by BP Computers are subject to these standard terms and conditions, except where agreed in writing.

DEFINITIONS "Our", "Us" and "We" refers to the seller (vendor) whose trading style appears on your order and invoice. "You and "Your" refers to the original company, organisation or individual who purchases goods and/or services directly from us. "Reseller" refers to any person or company who purchases items for resale onto a third party. "Consumer" refers to any person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business or profession. In all cases for "he" read "he or she".

YOUR RIGHTS: You and We are protected by statutory (legal) rights, according to the laws of England, which, where statutory legislation exists , or new legislation exists, or new legislation comes into force, your and our statutory rights are not affected by anything within these terms, and those rights take precedence over these terms. Where any part of these terms is over-ridden by legislation, all other terms still apply. Any other order placed with us is subject to acceptance. 

i. PRICE: All prices quoted include VAT but not carriage unless otherwise specified. Please notify us promptly if you are not billed the correct amount and we will correct the error. All advertised/advised/published pricing is subject to change at any time without notice due to market fluctuations and other factors.

ii.RETURNS: Goods returned for replacement or refund, we may charge a restocking fee of 10% for unused unopened items and additionally for any items missing, damaged , depending on condition. Software items will not be refunded or replaced unless found to be in their original wrapping or faulty at the time of sale.

iii. REPAIRS: Repairs undertaken on items not under warranty have a 30 day (RTB) warranty only, except where otherwise specified.

iv. WARRANTIES & SUPPORT: All new goods sold by us are covered by a return to base (RTB) warranty of 12 months, or that required by applicable law. Used products (including refurbished, second hand and ex-demo products) will have a warranty 30 days, except where otherwise specified. Examine the specific product's warranty for details of what type of faults or breakdowns are covered. For any warranty claim, you must have your original invoice. Any extended warranty offered  by a manufacturer beyond the 12 months does not form part of your contract with us, although we may handle it on the manufacturers' behalf. Do not attempt to repair, modify or open any product unless specifically advised by us to do so as this may invalidate the warranty. You may need proof of purchase (invoice) for all other support issues. The warranty runs from the original invoice date onwards. If a fault does develop or is found, this must be notified to us promptly. We endeavour to provide technical support and online facilities to assist/enhance your usage of the productsd purchased from us. However, such supply/provision is provided as a courtesy only and not included in your contract with us and may be withdrawn or refused at any time.

v. GOODS SUITABILITY: It is your responsibility to ensure that the correct goods and correct model are purchased for your purposes.

By placing an order with us, you are bound by these terms unless agreed otherwise in writing. All statutory rights apply as per the statute of the United Kingdom and European Union where applicable you should keep a copy of these terms.

3. CALLOUTS

We will usually give an appointment time to customers and endeavour to be there as close to that time as possible. However, as appointments with customers can vary in duration due to wide variety of computer problems, it is possible that we may not be able to keep to the pre-arranged time. BP Computers will endeavour to contact you if any of their technicians is likely to be early/late.

Appointments may be cancelled by BP Computers at very short notice in exceptional circumtances such as staff illness.

Please make sure you have the means to pay the technician before booking - cash or cheque are acceptable.

We cannot make any alterations to your house (drilling holes for example) for insurance reasons.

Technicians will not be able to lift/remove any items of furniture (except for the PC/Printer/Monitor) unless agreed when booking.

Callouts up to the first hour carry a fixed charge, then are charged at a quarter of the hourly rate every 15 minutes. A callout will still be charged if the fault is found to be outside of the scope of the technician (eg. where there are phone or power problems that have nothing to do ith the PC).

Callouts are charged at the normal rate in the following areas: Thanet, Herne Bay, Whitstable, Canterbury and outlying villages, Sandwich, Deal. If you live in an area not mentioned, please contact us first.

4. REPAIR TIME

Repairs brought onto the premises will be briefly inspected and you will be advised of the estimated time and cost involved. Due to the nature of computer problems, these estimates can often change during the course of repair. BP Computers will always endeavour to contact you before attempting a repair outside the scope of the original cost and time frame.

5. WARRANTY

Any PC, Laptop or device containg an operating system is covered by a 12 month (if new) or 30 day (if refurbished) return to base warranty.

Software problems are not covered by the warranty and these may include items such as viruses, spyware, faulty or incompatible drivers or updates, or incompatible software installed onto the machine. Please check with us if in doubt.

6. UPGRADES

Any or our new or refurbished PCs or laptops can be upgraded by the customer without the warranty being invalidated. BP Computers can refuse to honour a warranty if damage occurs to a PC or laptop due to an upgrade performed by another party. Please consult with us if you are going to be attempting an upgrade on your computer so we can advise. 

7. PAYMENT

We accept cash, cheque (with a cheque guarantee card), and Switch/Maestro, Visa and Mastercard, Solo cards at the shop. We can only accept cash or cheque when coming out to see you.
